Built out of Love The camp was established in 2002 as a Kentucky based non-profit (501 (c)(3)). Today, it is taking shape on 191 acres of property located in Kentucky's Boyle and Mercer Counties. It will provide permanent facilities necessary for ill children including a fully equipped clinic area, dining.entertainment hall, cabins, and activities including a pool and horse stables. Who Benefits? Children from throughout Kentucky and surrounding states with illnesses including cancer, diabetes, asthma, sickle cell anemia, kidney disease, AIDs, heart ailments or other illnesses will utilize the camp. CHA will offer a family camping center as well as support services for families. And, through collaborations with the University of Kentucky's Children's Hospital and Hospice of the Bluegrass, the camp will also offer special programs for children with obesity issues, for those who have lost a loved one to terminal illness and for siblings of ill children.
